Alexander Scores Four Goals in 8-7 Win Over Susquehanna

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Junior Charlotte Alexander tied her career high with four goals to lead the McDaniel College women's lacrosse team to an 8-7 win over Susquehanna Saturday inside Gill Stadium.

The Green Terror (3-1) are off to their best start since 2022 when they began the season with five-straight wins en route to a 9-7 record.

Alexander also had four goals in a 19-12 win versus Hood just over one year ago on Feb. 28, 2024.

Senior Paris Conord posted her second hat trick of the season and third of her career with three first-half goals while junior Mia McElwee scored her first goal of the season and her first career game-winning goal, netting the team's eighth goal with 3:56 remaining in the third quarter.

Led by goals from Alexander and Conord, McDaniel led 2-1 after the first quarter before a five-goal second gave the team its largest lead, 7-3. Alexander scored three of the five while Conord tallied the other two.

After the River Hawks (1-3) scored the first goal of the second quarter to tie the game at 2-2, the Green Terror scored the next four to take a 6-2 advantage.

Each team netted a goal in the third before the visitors scored all three in the fourth. Holding a one-goal lead, McDaniel senior Kayonna Cook caused a turnover on the game's final possession with two seconds remaining to help the team stay unbeaten in two home games this season.

Cook finished the game with three caused turnovers.

Junior Kat Thayer finished with two assists, two ground balls and two draw controls while junior Caleigh Kohr made a season-high seven saves, including five in the second half.

The Green Terror continue their six-game home stand on Wednesday when they host Juniata beginning at 4:30 p.m.
