ASHLAND, Va. - Sophomore
Emily Conklin had two goals and three points as the McDaniel College women's lacrosse team fell to Randolph-Macon on the road Saturday at Day Field.
The Green Terror (1-1) totaled 10 caused turnovers and had 18 ground balls, but were limited to just 21 shots.
Conklin also added six draw controls and two caused turnovers while senior
Paris Conord had a goal and an assist. Senior
Kayonna Cook had four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
The Yellow Jackets (2-1) scored the game's first two goals before Conklin cut the lead in half with her first career goal with 11:08 remaining.
However, Randolph-Macon scored the next six unanswered before Conklin assisted Conord with three seconds remaining in the second quarter as the visitors trailed 8-2 at the half.
Each team added a third-quarter tally before McDaniel scored two of the first three goals to start the fourth quarter and cut its deficit in half, 10-5, with 9:51 left.
Nonetheless, Randolph-Macon, led by three-straight from Cami McNeally, scored the last five goals to provide the final margin.
Junior
Caleigh Kohr made six saves while counterpart Gillian Gladden had eight for the Yellow Jackets.
The Green Terror return to action on Wednesday at Hood. Opening draw is at 4 p.m.
