WESTMINSTER, Md. – The McDaniel College volleyball team wrapped up its season with a Senior Day split against Ursinus and Trinity Washington on Saturday at the Gill Center.
The Green Terror (9-16, 1-9) dropped its final conference match of the year to the Bears (9-15, 3-7), winning the second set 25-18 to highlight the loss.

Prior to the match, seniors
Kailey Young,
Samantha Fadel and
Emily Osborne were honored with a pre-match ceremony for Senior Day.
Ursinus scored the first four points of the opening set and jumped out to a 6-1 lead early. The Green Terror cut the deficit to one but Ursinus responded with five straight to double the margin, 12-6. Kills from Young and sophomore
Stephanie Buttons kept the hosts within striking distance but an error sealed a 25-20 win for the Bears in set one.
McDaniel began the second set with an 11-5 advantage, eventually growing the lead to nine following back-to-back Bear error. A kill from Buttons and an ace from sophomore
Cassy Poteet kept the lead at nine, and the Green Terror held off a late rally from the Bears to take the second set, 25-18.
After falling behind by six in set three, McDaniel battled back to tie the set at 19-19, eventually taking a 21-20 lead late. The Bears scored five of the final six points to claim the 25-22 victory, taking that momentum into a 25-16 match-clinching win in set four.
Young collected 13 kills for her highest total in conference play this season. Sophomore
Kaylee Comstock had 31 assists, just three short of her season best. Comstock, Buttons and junior
Reese Beck all finished with double-digit digs, with Beck leading the way with 16.
The Green Terror concluded the season with a sweep over Trinity Washington to close the tri-match.

The Tigers (1-13) opened set one with a 4-3 lead but the Green Terror (10-16) finished the set on a 22-2 run to win 25-6. The hosts won set two by a similar margin, 25-8, collecting eight kills and nine service aces. McDaniel wrapped up the season with a 25-7 win in set three to complete the sweep and the split on Senior Day.
Young led the team with nine kills while Osborne had a season-high six.
Fadel had 10 digs to lead the way defensively.
