WESTMINSTER, Md. - Four consecutive wins beginning at 157 pounds keyed a 24-21 victory for No. 17 Lycoming over the No. 22-ranked McDaniel College men's wrestling team in the Sam Case Classic on Sunday inside the Gill Center.

The Green Terror (1-1) jumped out to a 14-4 lead after wins in three of the first four matches, but the Warriors scored 20 unanswered points to take a 12-point lead going into the final two matches.

Each team won five individual matches, but Lycoming earned five bonus-point wins, including two tech falls and one fall to post the five-point victory.

Senior Romeo Tsai began the day with a 20-4 tech fall at 125 pounds before the Warriors earned a major decision at 133. First-year Andrew Dolezel posted a 4-0 decision at 141 pounds before senior Thomas Monn recorded his 50th career dual match victory at 149 to put McDaniel in front, 14-4.

Monn is now 114-11 in his career, including 50-1 in dual matches. Ranked second on the program's all-time wins list, he is 12 shy of the record held by Brock Glotfelty '11. Monn is 12-0 this season with 10 bonus-point wins, including four falls.

Lycoming (3-1) posted bonus-point wins in the next four consecutive matches with a major decision, two tech falls, and one fall to take a 24-14 advantage with two matches remaining.

Trailing by 10, the Green Terror got a decision from junior Alex Taylor at 197 pounds and a major decision from senior Kaden Bryan at heavyweight to provide the final margin.

Lycoming has won the last three matches with McDaniel since the Green Terror posted a 24-19 victory over the Warriors in the Sam Case Duals on Nov. 20, 2022.

McDaniel returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Blue Jay Invite hosted by Elizabethtown.
