WASHINGTON, D.C. - The McDaniel College women's swimming team swept a tri-meet with Gallaudet and Goucher in the nation's capital on Saturday, picking up their second and third wins of the season.
The Green Terror (3-11) picked up their first wins since Nov. 23 when they posted a 65-28 victory over Moravian at home.
Senior
Tori McArthur earned the first win for McDanel in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:14.31 while freshman
Mackenzie Leeson took second in 15:29.87.
Senior
Amanda Thompson touched the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle in 27.24 seconds with sophomore
Kaylie Wolf touching second in 28.43 seconds.
Junior
Jane Walkinshaw collected a win in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 1:07.64, taking first place by just two tenths of a second.
Thompson posted her second win in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 59.97 seconds. She was the only swimmer to finish the event in under 1-minute. Walkinshaw secured another win in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:55.00, edging out second-place by only two seconds.
The team rounded out the day with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay as the team of Wolf, Thompson, junior
Mackenzie Skelton and sophomore
Eleanor Virgilio clocked in with a time of 1:55.69.
The Green Terror return to action next Saturday, Feb. 1 when they host a Centennial Conference meet against Dickinson at Harlow Pool beginning at 1 p.m.
