ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Four-straight wins beginning with a fall at 149 pounds led the McDaniel College men's wrestling team to a 24-17 road victory at Muhlenberg Friday in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams at Memorial Hall.

The Green Terror (3-12, 1-0 CC) snapped a seven-match losing streak against the Mules and picked up their first win in five road matches this season.

With the match tied at 9-9 after junior Thomas Monn, ranked 10th in Division III and first in Region 3 at 149 pounds, posted a second-period fall over Alex Greco in 4:17, senior Xavier Howard, ranked fourth in Region 3, gave McDaniel the lead for good with a second-period tech fall at 157 pounds, 19-3.

Junior Avery Cummings posted a 16-6 major decision at 165 pounds before freshman Soren Wynn recorded a 15-9 decision at 174 pounds to extend the visitors' lead to 21-9 with three matches remaining.

Muhlenberg (6-6, 0-1 CC) pulled within seven after a tech fall at 184 pounds, but senior Val Pryor sealed the win with a 5-1 decision at 197 pounds.

Senior Alex DuFour, ranked fifth in Region 3 at 125 pounds, got things started with an 8-2 decision, in his 128th career match.

The Green Terror returns to action next Friday, Jan. 31 when they head to Baltimore to renew the Crab Cup rivalry with Johns Hopkins beginning at 7 p.m.
