FREDERICK, Md - The Green Terror traveled to Hood College to face Hood and St. Mary's in a tri-meet. The McDaniel Swim team fell 102-148 against Hood and lost to St. Mary's 72-187.
Senior Amanda Thompson won the 1000 yard freestyle in a time of 11:49.53. Freshman Georgia Cole placed fourth with a time of 13:18.89. Thompson also placed first in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:08.05. Senior Tori McArthur placed fifth with a time of 1:17.87. Thompson placed third in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:47.09. Freshman Mackenzie Leeson placed seventh with a time of 7:37.11.
Junior Jane Walkinshaw took second in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 59.98. Sophomore Kaylie Wolf placed fifth with a time of 1:05.99. Sophomore Eleanor Virgilio placed sixth with a time of 1:06.75. Walkinshaw placed fourth in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:15.68. Leeson placed ninth with a time of 2:42.81. Sophomore Natalie Hutchinson placed tenth with a time of 3:13.38. Walkinshaw would also place second in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 29.33. Junior Mackenzie Skelton placed seventh with a time of 34.25.
Wolf placed fourth in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 28.55. Virgilio placed sixth with a time of 29.49. Junior Britney Ramirez placed tenth with a time of 48.80.
The 200 yard freestyle team of Thompson, Wolf, Virgilio, and Walkinshaw placed second with a time of 1:53.28. The 200 yard medley relay of Cole, Wolf, McArthur, Virgilio placed fifth with a time of 2:16.90.
Cole placed fifth in the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 40.35. Hutchinson placed eighth with a time of 1:05.39. Cole also placed fifth in the 100 yard IM with a time of 1:15.38. McArthur placed seventh with a time of 1:19.39.
Skelton placed fifth in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:16.31. Leeson placed eight with a time of 1:27.24. Ramirez placed ninth with a time of 2:09.40. Skelton placed seventh with a time of 36.17 in the 50 yard backstroke. Ramirez placed eighth with a time of 53.60.
McArthur placed fifth in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:28.57. Hutchinson placed seventh with a time of 2:17.59.
The McDaniel College Swim Team will be back in action on January 25th in a tri-meet with Gallaudet and Goucher at Goucher College.
