Football Outlasts Catholic, Fultz Wins McDaniel Debut

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Junior Micajah Cobbs ran for a career-high 83 yards and a touchdown to lead the McDaniel College football team to a 7-3 victory over Catholic Friday night on Rembert Field at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium in the season opener for both teams.

However, McDaniel responded with a nine-play, 69-yard drive, on its ensuing possession, capped by a 17-yard touchdown run from Cobbs to give the Green Terror their first lead since Nov. 5, 2022 in a 19-16 win over Gettysburg.

After the two teams combined for no points on 66 plays for 181 yards, they amassed 156 yards on 25 plays during back-to-back drives in the third quarter.
