WESTMINSTER, Md. - Seniors
Makayla Calamita and
Mandy Butz combined for nine hits and seven RBIs to lead the McDaniel College softball team to a non-conference sweep over Stevenson Sunday at the Softball Park.
The Green Terror (14-20) have now won four of the last five overall against their in-state rival and eight of the last 10 in Westminster. They scored 16 on 26 hits over both games, their highest total for each in a doubleheader this season.
Calamita went 5-for-8 with two doubles and five RBIs while Butz was 4-for-8 with a home run, two RBIs and five runs.

Arianna Kelly and
Amy Anderson each picked up their first career wins.
McDaniel 7, Stevenson 5
Trailing 5-4 entering the bottom of the seventh, the Green Terror scored three runs to win, including the last two with two outs on a walk-off two-run home run by Butz.
Freshman
Ashley Shawyer led off with a double to right center before junior
Jessica Millard hit a pinch-hit single to left center. Freshman
Riley Jackson, who pinch ran for Shawyer, scored on a throwing error to tie the game at 5-5 before Butz hit her team-leading fourth home run of the season.
McDaniel scored the final five runs after falling behind 5-2 after five innings. With two outs in the bottom of the sixth, the team cut its deficit to one after back-to-back RBI-singles by Calamita and junior
Bella Sylvester.
Kelly, who entered the game in relief of sophomore
Morgan Rogers, picked up her first career win after allowing just two hits over 2.1Â innings.
Calamita went 3-for-4 with two RBIs while Butz was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs. Sylvester also went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
McDaniel 9, Stevenson 3
With the game tied at 2-2, the Green Terror scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth on consecutive at-bats, highlighted by an RBI-double by senior
Paytyn Hazelton. Jackson reached on a fielder's choice to score Hazelton before an RBI-single by Shawyer scored Jackson.
Millard pushed the lead to 6-2 with an RBI-double in the fifth.
After an inside-the-park home run by the Mustangs (7-19) in the top of the sixth, Shawyer added another RBI-single in the bottom of the inning before a two-run double by Calamita provided the final margin.
Calamita was 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs while Shawyer was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Millard and Butz also had two hits for the victors.
Anderson totaled her first complete game to earn her first career win, allowing just one earned run on 14 hits.
McDaniel closes out the regular season with six games this week, including four at home and four in the Centennial Conference. The team hosts Dickinson on Tuesday beginning at 3 p.m.
