McDaniel Scores Most Goals Since 1985 in Win at Bryn Mawr

BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The McDaniel College women's lacrosse team scored the second-most goals in program history in a 24-6 road win at Bryn Mawr Saturday in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams.

The Green Terror (6-3, 1-0 CC) scored finished five goals shy of the school record set on April 11, 1985 in a 29-7 victory over Lebanon Valley.

Saturday marked the 11th time in program history that McDaniel has scored 20 or more goals.

A total of 13 players scored a goal for McDaniel led by four from senior Emma Miller. She now has 124 career goals, moving her into a tie for 12th in school history with Erin Mulhern who also scored 124 from 1999-2002.

Senior Emma Legacy and sophomore Charlotte Alexander also netted hat-tricks, finishing with three goals apiece. Alexander also added an assist to finish with four points.

The Owls (0-6, 0-1 CC) led 1-0 and 2-1 before the Green Terror scored five consecutive goals in a span of 3:46 to take the lead for good, 6-2 with 8:15 remaining in the first quarter. Miller, Legacy and Alexander each scored once during the run while senior Gaby Kohr had two goals and one assist.

McDaniel led 10-4 after one, scoring the final two tallies of the quarter to start at 13-0 run that saw the visitors take a 21-4 lead with 2:30 left in the third quarter. Nine different players scored during the run, including the first career goals for freshmen Lindsey Roberts and Mia Reese.

Roberts scored again in the fourth quarter before sophomore Avagrace James netted her first career tally with 2:33 to play.

Miller also had seven draw controls while sophomore Kat Thayer added four to go along with one goal, one assist and one caused turnover.

Sophomore Caleigh Kohr made six saves in earning her sixth win of the season before sophomore Emma Wood had one over the final 21 minutes.

The Green Terror return to action next Saturday, March 30 when they host a Centennial Conference contest versus Ursinus at Gill Stadium beginning at noon.
