ABERDEEN, Md. - McDaniel College baseball freshman
Shea McKenna went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, but Montclair State scored four unanswered runs to break a 3-3 tie en route to a 10-6 win Sunday in the final game at the Ripken Experience.
The Green Terror (2-1) totaled 10 hits, including four that went for extra bases, but they left 10 runners on base with five in scoring position. They also allowed seven walks.
McKenna totaled two doubles and his first career home run in the top of the third to tie the game at 3-3. However, the Red Hawks retook the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth, one on a sacrifice fly and two unearned following an error.
Montclair State (2-1) increased its lead to 7-3 in the sixth when Reece Malek scored on a wild pitch.
After McKenna scored graduate student
Joey Hubinger on a sacrifice fly in the seventh to cut the deficit to three, Marcus Johnson hit a three-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the eighth to put the Red Hawks in front, 10-4.
McKenna and senior
Tyler Yohn had back-to-back RBI-doubles with two outs in the top of the ninth to provide the final margin.

Ethan Haddock finished 2-for-4 with an RBI-single while sophomore
Ben Davis was 2-for-5.

Dominic DiBlasi made his first career start on the mound, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks. Senior
Matt Mondrone entered in the fourth, also surrendering three runs and three walks before senior
Ryan Kelly pitched the final three innings, giving up four runs on two hits.
McDaniel returns to action next Saturday, March 2 when it hosts a non-conference doubleheader against Juniata in its home opener at Preston Field.
