WESTMINSTER, Md. - Wins at 174 and 184 pounds secured a two-point victory for York (Pa.) against the McDaniel College men's wrestling team on Saturday in the Sam Case '63 Classic.

The Green Terror (0-4) posted five wins and two falls, but came up just short in a bid for their first dual meet victory of the season.

Josh Stahl, ranked third in Region 3, posted a tech fall at 174 pounds before Jack Wendel recorded a fall at 184 to give the Spartans a 25-16 lead.

Senior Val Pryor posted a major decision at 197 pounds to pull McDaniel within five with one match remaining, needing a fall to win or tech fall to tie.

Junior Kaden Bryan controlled most of the match at heavyweight, generating two near falls, but couldn't secure one, settling for a 6-2 decision to secure three points, but leaving the Green Terror just short in their first home match of the season.

The Spartans (1-1) jumped to a 14-0 lead before McDaniel posted three-straight wins to take a 16-14 advantage. Junior Thomas Monn and senior Xavier Howard each had falls at 149 and 157 pounds, respectively, before junior Andre Allen posted a 19-6 major decision at 165 pounds.

The Green Terror return to action on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Blue Jay Classic hosted by Elizabethtown.
