Men's Soccer Falls at Juniata in ECAC Semifinals, 2-1

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Juniata scored the game's first two goals and held off a late rally by the McDaniel College men's soccer team en route to a 2-1 victory Sunday in the semifinals of the ECAC Division III Men's Soccer Championship.

After posting their first postseason win since 2017, the Green Terror (10-8-2) conclude their season with their second 10-win in the last three years.

The Eagles (12-3-6) scored just over six minutes into the contest when Jase Colina scored off a pair off assists from Nathan Weick and Gavin Rauhut on the game's first shot.

Despite a combined 32 shots in the contest, that would be the game's only goal until the 69th minute when Rauhut picked up his second assist on a feed to Shawn Tanaka following a McDaniel turnover in its own end.

One minute later, sophomore Mike Mevo netted his third goal of the season when he scored on a low shot from inside the box.

Trailing by one, the Green Terror looked for the equalizer, but were limited to just three shots over the final 20 minutes with the lone attempt on goal turned away by Maxwell Mattioni for one of his four saves.

Juniata held a 22-10 advantage in shots and an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.

Sophomore Tate Roth made seven saves, including five in the second half. The All-Centennial Conference First Team selection finished his first season as the starter with a 0.79 goals-against average, .854 save percentage and 10-7-1 record with 11 shutouts.
