EWING, N.J. - Facing to nationally-ranked opponents back-to-back, the McDaniel College men's wrestling team fell to No. 11 The College of New Jersey and No. 24 Delaware Valley Saturday in the Garden State.

The Green Terror (0-2) began the day with a 43-6 loss to host TCNJ before falling to Delaware Valley, 54-0.

McDaniel wrestlers faced three opponents who are ranked nationally and 10 that are regionally ranked.

After posting a 4-0 record en route to winning last week's Messiah Invitational at 125 pounds, senior Alex DuFour posted one of McDaniel's two individual wins against the Lions with a 9-7 decision over seventh-ranked Matt Griffin. Griffin is also the top-ranked wrestler in Region 3.

Senior Xavier Howard, ranked sixth nationally at 157 pounds, recorded the team's second win against TCNJ with a 5-2 win over J.J. Giordano.

Freshman Nick Massengill fell to Nick Sacco, the top-ranked wrestler in Region 3 at 165 pounds, while freshman Will Terry fell to the region's second-ranked wrestler at 141 pounds, Sam Kotch.

In the second match, the Green Terror dropped their second-ever meeting against the Aggies and first since 2022. Freshman William Conley dropped his first career match at 133 pounds, losing to No. 2 Jacob Blair by fall.

At heavyweight, sophomore Kaden Bryan also fell by fall against a nationally-ranked opponent, losing to No. 14 Logan Flynn.

At 174 pounds, Terry faced his second regionally-ranked opponent of the day, falling to fifth-ranked Luke Moore by tech fall.

McDaniel will face their third-straight nationally-ranked foe when it travels to No. 19 Ferrum next Saturday, Nov. 16 for a 7 p.m. match against the Panthers.
