WESTMINSTER, Md. - The McDaniel College men's tennis team won its first match of the season on Saturday, defeating Mount Aloysius at Warfield Tennis Courts, 4-3.
Sophomore Nick Ferraro won his first career singles match, defeating Trent Strous at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-1. Ferraro also teamed with sophomore Hunter Turlington to post a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles over Strous and Hunter Reed.
Senior Parth Shah won his first match of the season over Matthew Franz at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-2 while Shah and senior Quinn Dietsche defeated Franz and Matt Jacobs at No. 2 doubles, 6-1.
Junior Justin Edwards also won his first match of the season, defeating Reed at No. 5 singles, 7-5, 6-2.
Sophomore Connor Neal and senior Drew Ryder picked up the fourth win for the Green Terror at No. 1 doubles, defeating Stefano Gasasira and Tristen Ruffley, 6-1.
McDaniel travels to Hood for a non-conference match on Friday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m.
