CARLISLE, Pa. - Dickinson had 450 yards of total offense and scored in each quarter en route to a Centennial Conference victory over the McDaniel College football team Saturday at Biddle Field, 24-0.
The Green Terror (1-5, 0-3 CC) limited the Red Devils to just one field goal on their first three possessions while forcing two punts.
However, Dickinson scored a touchdown on each of its next three possessions which proved to be enough as they controlled the ball for over 20 minutes, totaling 229 yards on 35 plays.
After forcing the first of two interceptions midway through the second quarter, the Red Devils (4-2 , 1-1 CC) drove 96 yards on 17 plays and used up over eight minutes of clock before Presley Egbers connected with Kellen Boyer from 19 yards out to put Dickinson in front, 10-0 at halftime.
McDaniel got the ball to start the second half, but after a three-and-out, Dickinson totaled a 12-play, 57-yard drive that used 7:43 to take a 17-0 lead late in the third, capped by an 8-yard pass from Egbers to Bobbt Markey.
Following a second consecutive punt by the Green Terror, Egbers threw his third touchdown pass of the day, 29-yard strike to Dane Sorensen to put the home team in front by four scores with 12:28 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Egbers completed 18-of-26 passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns while Diante Ball ran for 127 yards on 17 carries.
Meanwhile, the Red Devil defense limited McDaniel to 122 yards while totaling three sacks and forcing two turnovers. Sophomore
Angel Granado completed 8-of-19 passes for 80 yards while rushing for 33 yards on 18 carries. Junior
Micajah Cobbs was his top target, hauling in three receptions for 24 yards.
Defensively, freshman
Taevon LeGrande had 14 total tackles with 1.5 for loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Freshman
David Are had six tackles, including 1.5 for loss, one sack and one forced fumble.
McDaniel hits the road for the second-straight week next Saturday, Oct. 26 when it heads to Lancaster, Pa. to take on Franklin & Marshall. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
