Abigayle Bowley and
Abigail May led the McDaniel College volleyball team to a non-conference sweep over Trinity Washington Tuesday night at the Gill Center, 25-9, 25-5, 25-9.
The Green Terror (9-2) are off to their best start to a season since 2018 when they started with 10 wins in their first 11 matches. The win was their seventh-straight, their longest win streak since they won 13 in-a-row during the 2017 season when they finished with a 19-9 record.
McDaniel is now 6-1 at home, equaling its mark set in 2018 when the team posted a 23-9 overall record. Tuesday's match up marked the first meeting between the two teams since 2013.
Bowley totaled four kills, three service aces and two block assists with a .250 hitting percentage while May had three kills, a career-high four service aces and two digs.
Junior
Kenzie Mitchell totaled nine kills on 10 swings for a .900 hitting percentage to lead the Green Terror to a season-high .323 hitting percentage. Freshman
Stephanie Buttons had a career-high five kills and junior
Emily Osborne added a season-high four. Seven players had at least three kills for McDaniel.
Freshman
Kaylee Comstock had 17 assists and two service aces while junior
Samantha Fadel led the team with nine digs.
The Green Terror open Centennial Conference play on Saturday when they host Swarthmore beginning at 1 p.m.
