Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Hall Leads McDaniel to First Centennial Conference Road Win

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Junior Lorin Hall scored a season-high 16 points to lead the McDaniel College men's basketball team to a 66-58 road win over Haverford Thursday at Calvin Gooding Arena.

The Green Terror (6-7, 2-5 CC) picked up their first conference road win and snapped a four-game losing streak against the Fords.

Hall scored 11 of his 16 points in the first half as McDaniel led by 12 at halftime, 32-20. The team shot 50 percent from the floor, going 13-for-26, while scoring 14 points in the paint.

Defensively, the visitors limited the Fords to just 8-of-25 shooting for 32.0 percent and out-rebounded them, 21-11. With the game tied at 16-16, the Green Terror closed the half on a 16-4 run.

Haverford (4-10, 1-6 CC) scored the first seven points of the second half to cut its deficit to five, but that would be as close as it would as McDaniel pushed its lead to as many as 16 following two free throws by senior Chuck Contee with 5:19 remaining.

Despite the Fords going 12-for-23 from the floor in the second half with five three-pointers, the Green Terror managed to keep them at bay after scoring 13 points off seven turnovers while committing just four of their own. They also held a plus-five margin in rebounding.

Contee finished with 11 points and five rebounds while sophomore David Kearney just missed his fourth double double of the season with 12 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Jonas Sujeta had nine points and graduate student Brendan Kade had six points and six rebounds.

McDaniel plays its third conference game in five days on Saturday when it welcomes Muhlenberg to the Gill Center for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
