Noll Scores Game-Winner in 11-10 Win Over Susquehanna

WESTMINSTER, Md. - McDaniel College women's lacrosse senior Acadia Noll scored the game-winning goal with 1:20 remaining as the Green Terror posted an 11-10 victory over Susquehanna Saturday at Gill Stadium.

McDaniel (2-2) posted its second win in three home games this season and has won three of its last four dating back to last season.

After the Green Terror scored three unanswered goals to take a 10-8 lead with 10:57 remaining in the fourth quarter, Hannah McNamara scored back-to-back for the River Hawks to tie the game for the fourth time with 6:53 to play.

McNamara finished five goals and one assist to lead all scorers.

Both teams had a couple chances to win the game down the stretch, but Noll hit the post with just over six minutes left while freshman Caleigh Kohr made one of her two fourth-quarter saves with just over four minutes remaining to keep the game tied.

Kohr finished with a career-high nine saves.

Each team would commit a turnover on their next possession before Noll drew a foul for shooting space inside the 8-meter arc with 1:22 to play. On her free-position attempt, Noll took two steps inside the arc before going five-hole to put McDaniel back on top.

Susquehanna (3-2) won the ensuing draw control and had a chance to tie the game for a fifth time, but senior Kendall Gracie caused her fourth turnover of the day and secured the ground ball as the Green Terror was able to run out the clock and secure the win.

Noll was one of six different goal scorers for the Green Terror as she finished with two goals along with one assist. Junior Emma Miller led the way with three tallies while adding seven draw controls, two ground balls and one caused turnover.

Freshman Julia Corry finished with two goals and one assist while senior Emily Sheppard also scored twice.

Gracie totaled four ground balls and four caused turnovers while sophomore Kayonna Cook had three caused turnovers and five ground balls.

McDaniel returns to action next Saturday, March 11 when it heads to Elizabethtown to face the Blue Jays. Opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m.
