Corry Scores Seven Goals in 16-7 Win at Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - In just her fifth collegiate game, McDaniel College women's lacrosse freshman Julia Corry scored a career-high seven goals in a 16-7 road win at Elizabethtown Saturday.

The Green Terror (3-2) won their second-straight and picked up their first road win. They also won their fourth in-a-row against the Blue Jays.

Corry scored the most goals in a game by a freshman in program history. She also added an assist to finish with eight points, the most by a McDaniel player this season.

Both teams traded goals in the first two minutes before McDaniel reeled off five-straight, including three from Corry, to take a six-goal lead with 10:31 remaining in the second quarter.

After Sam Deiaco stopped the run with the first of her three goals in the game for Elizabethtown (3-3), Corry added two more tallies as the Green Terror stretched their lead to nine.

Senior Acadia Noll scored the second of her three goals to give the visitors a 12-3 halftime lead before she scored the first goal of the second half just 27 seconds in to put McDaniel in front by 10.

Corry then scored back-to-back less than two minutes apart as the Green Terror took their largest lead of the game, 15-3 with 10:32 left in the third.

Noll finished with three goals and two assists while junior Emma Miller added two goals, one assist and 11 of the team's 18 draw controls. Ranked fifth in program history with 189 career draw controls, Miller needs just 11 more to become only the fifth player in team history to reach 200.

Junior Gaby Kohr also added three points with one goal and two assists while her sister, freshman Caleigh Kohr, made her third-straight start in goal and picked up her second win with two saves before giving way to senior Astrid Jensen.

Junior Emma Legacy led a defensive effort that forced 30 turnovers with three ground balls and three caused turnovers. A total of 10 players had at least one caused turnover for McDaniel, including two from reigning Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week, senior Kendall Gracie.

The Green Terror look for their third win in-a-row on Wednesday when they take on Albright in Clearwater, Fla. as part of their spring break trip. Game time is at 10 a.m.
