GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The McDaniel College women's swimming team currently sits in seventh place following the first night of the 2023 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships hosted by Gettysburg College.
The Green Terror are tied with Dickinson as each team has 46 points. Swarthmore sits in first with 110 points followed by the host Bullets with 100.
McDaniel finished seventh out of eight teams in the A final of the 200-yard medley relay. The team of freshman Mackenzie Skelton, sophomore Tori McArthur, senior Ella Tomkins and freshman Jane Walkinshaw earned 24 points with a time of 2:03.96, just off their seed time of 2:02.98.
Gettysburg won the event with a new championship and pool record while four teams recorded NCAA B cut times.
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the team of junior Abby Cook, senior Emma Lindell, senior Ashley Farrington and sophomore Amanda Thompson placed eighth in the A final with a time of 8:43.25, three seconds faster than their seed time to capture 22 points.
Swarthmore finished first in a new pool record time while Ursinus came in second. Both teams recorded NCAA B cut times.
Session 2 of the conference meet gets underway with the prelims on Friday morning beginning at 10 a.m.
