Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Late Run Leads Dickinson Past Men's Basketball in CC Opener

CARLISLE, Pa. - Leading by four with under seven minutes remaining, Dickinson used a 13-5 run to secure a 63-47 victory over the McDaniel College men's basketball team Tuesday in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams.

The Green Terror (2-2, 0-1 CC) suffered their first regulation loss to the Red Devils since Jan. 27, 2022 as last season's two meetings both went to overtime with each team winning on the other's home floor.

Sophomore Jonas Sujeta led the team with 15 points and eight rebounds and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line. Sophomore Christian Taylor had 10 points, two shy of his career high, while adding six rebounds.

After two-made free throws gave Dickinson (2-2, 0-1 CC) its largest lead of the game, 44-32 with under 10 minutes remaining, McDaniel scored the game's next eight consecutive points, including six from Sujeta and Taylor, to cut its deficit to four with 6:42 remaining.

However, the Red Devils responded with a run of their own over the next three-plus minutes to push their lead back to 12 with 3:18 to play.

Dickinson outscored the Green Terror 19-8 over the final six minutes, going 4-for-5 from the floor and 10-of-14 from the free throw line. Meanwhile, McDaniel finished the game by making just two of its final 10 shot attempts.

Sophomore David Kearney totaled six points, six rebounds and two steals.

The Green Terror will be idle for the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to action next Tuesday, Nov. 28 when they host a Centennial Conference contest versus Johns Hopkins inside the Gill Center. Tip-off is at 8 p.m.
