ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Muhlenberg scored a touchdown on five of its first seven drives and added a safety as the 17th-ranked Mules posted a 50-6 victory over the McDaniel College football team Saturday at Scotty Wood Stadium.
The Green Terror (0-5, 0-2Â CC) committed just one turnover and controlled time of possession, but were just 8-of-21 on third-down and 1-of-5 on fourth-down conversions while allowing six sacks.
Making his first career start, freshman
Angel Granado Jr. threw for 92 yards and rushed for 20, including the team's lone score on a 10-yard run late in the second quarter.
Graduate student
Sean Carter had eight receptions, raising his season total to 39. He now has 88 career catches as he looks to become just the 10th player in program history to total 100 career receptions.
Meanwhile, senior
Hunter Sigler had two catches for 69 yards. One of just 15 players in school history with over 1,000 yards receiving, he needs just 122 yards to move into the top-10 in program history for career receiving yards.
McDaniel finished with 199 yards of total offense, the first time in the last four games that it did not out-gain its opponent. However, the team did have more time of possession for the fifth time in as many games this season.
After a three-and-out on their first possession, the Mules (5-0, 2-0 CC) got on the board with 8:30 remaining in the first quarter after holding the Green Terror to a turnover on downs and taking over possession at the McDaniel 37-yard line. Four plays later, Joe Repetti scored on a 15-yard run to put the home team in front, 7-0.
Repetti accounted for all five of Muhlenberg's first five scores, adding four passing touchdowns, as the Mules led 37-0 with 7:17 left in the second quarter. Three of those five scoring drives started inside Green Terror territory and all but one were five plays or less.
Repetti finished the game 15-of-22 passing for 226 yards and five touchdowns while adding 18 yards rushing and another score.
Graduate student
Mike Dunn led the defense with eight tackles, including 1.5 for loss and half-a-sack. Senior
Jevin Tranquillo had six tackles, one for loss and one interception.
McDaniel returns home for the third time this season next Saturday, Oct. 14 as it hosts Dickinson. Kickoff from Rembert Field at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium is at 1 p.m. The Green Terror won last year's meeting in Westminster, 21-13 on Oct. 1, 2022.
