Box Score ASHLAND, Va. - The McDaniel women's soccer team recorded their second shutout of the season in a draw against Randolph-Macon.
The first half began with an aggressive McDaniel (0-1-2) team pressuring the Yellow Jackets (3-0-1) all over the field. Graduate student
Jessie Titus found an opening in the first five minutes, but Randolph-Macon goalkeeper Abby Cook made the stop. The Yellow Jackets had the next two opportunities, but the Green Terror defense held firm and neither shot was on target.
With almost 15 minutes in the books, McDaniel began to create some opportunities deep in Randolph-Macon's territory. Senior
Taylor Clawson had a pair of shots saved by the Yellow Jackets keeper, and sophomore
Jessica Weinoldt created two chances as well, but could not capitalize.
The McDaniel defense continued its stellar play throughout the first half. Graduate studentÂ

Allison Storm and graduate student
Jules Dotterweich kept the potent Yellow Jacket offense in check. McDaniel held Randolph-Macon to five shots in the opening period.Â
To start the second half, Randolph-Macon came out fast and created multiple opportunities in the opening minutes. With the ball at McDaniel's end of the field for a long stretch, senior

Carstensen made two more key saves to keep the shutout going. The stout McDaniel defense didn't allow a shot for the final 17 minutes of action.
Coming off the bench, sophomore forward
Elizabeth LeChard made an instant impact for the Green Terror offense. She attacked the Yellow Jackets defense and created multiple opportunities for herself and teammates. With just under six minutes to play,
LeChard created space and took a shot that sailed just above the crossbar. McDaniel continued to pressure as the clock wound down. At the 88th minute, junior
Elaina Kluttz had her shot blocked in front of the goal. Shortly after, time expired and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
McDaniel returns to the pitch in their home opener on Saturday against York College. The matchup is scheduled for 1 P.M.
