Box Score IMMACULATA, Pa. - McDaniel College men's soccer graduate student
Nick Starr scored two goals to lead the Green Terror to a 3-0 road win at Immaculata Thursday in the season opener for both teams.
McDaniel (1-0) is now 6-2-1 in season openers under 10-year head coach
Steve Corrieri.
The Green Terror controlled possession early and capitalized with two first-half goals. With just over 13 minutes elapsed, sophomore
Nick Lewis launched a throw deep into the box which resulted in an own goal.
Halfway through the opening half, Starr collected a pass 25 yards from the goal and connected on a low strike into the bottom left corner to put the Green Terror ahead at intermission, 2-0.
With 32 minutes to play, Starr took advantage of the aggressive Mighty Mac defense by drawing a foul in the box and earn a penalty kick. He blasted it inside the right post, just out of the keeper's outstretch arms to give McDaniel a three-goal lead heading into the final stretch.
Anchored by junior
