McDaniel welcomes new Assistant Athletic Director

Jeremy Shepherd takes over as Assistant A.D. for Internal Operations

Westminster, Md. - Jeremy Shepherd joins the Green Terror as the new Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations.

Prior to McDaniel, Shepherd has spent the last several years at Wilson College as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Athletic Communications. In this role Jeremy was responsible for all publicity, promotions, and media relations for the College's athletic programs. Shepherd also serves as the Direct Report for five of the College's athletic programs and serves on various committees on campus. He also oversaw the redesign of the Wilson Athletic Website and introduced livestreaming for Wilson sporting events.

Shepherd has seventeen seasons of softball coaching experience at the collegiate level. As an Assistant Softball Coach at Gettysburg College, Shepherd helped guide Gettysburg to its first conference title in 11 seasons in 2018. Shepherd also served as the head coach and assistant sports information director at Houghton College in Houghton, N.Y. In two seasons he guided the program to an appearance in the American Mideast Conference tournament and the National Christian College Athletic Association regional tournament. Shepherd also serves as the General Manager for the Be Elite Softball Academy in Gettysburg. Shepherd received his B.S. in Sports Management from Ohio Northern University in 2006 and attained his master's in Business Administration from Tiffin University in 2010. Shepherd and his wife, Annette, reside in Gettysburg and have two daughters: Skye and Sierra.

Upon taking this new position Shepherd stated,"I'm excited to join the athletics department at McDaniel College, an institution that values excellence in both academics and athletics. I'm very familiar with the Centennial Conference and look forward to supporting the student-athletes and coaches as they continue the tradition of competing at a high level. I'm also eager to build collaborative relationships with our campus partners to provide the best experience possible for our student-athletes. I am very thankful to Adam Hertz and the members of the search committee for providing me with this opportunity, and I can't wait to get on the hill and get started."
