Westminster, Md. - McDaniel Men's and Women's Basketball Program welcome new assistant coaches into the fold.
Maggie Berigan and
Carson Garvis look to add valuable insight and energy to their respective teams as they continue their coaching career here on the hill.
Maggie Berigan joins the Green Terror women's coaching staff after two years with the University of Indianapolis. As a Graduate Assistant Berigan coordinated travel and daily operations as well as recruiting, scouting, and player development. She graduated with her Master's in Sport's Management in 2022.
As a collegiate athlete, Berigan played four years at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. She appeared in 101 games while compiling 36 starts over her career. She is currently fourth all-time in program history with 139 blocks. Off the court she excelled as well, being named to the academic all-conference team each of her four years and graduating Magna Cum Laude from Carthage with a Bachelors degree in Communication and minor in educational studies in 2020.
Carson Garvis joins the McDaniel men's coaching staff after a two-year tenure at Hood College. Where he helped the Blazers capture their first conference title in school history and second NCAA tournament berth. Garvis played collegiate basketball at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, Pa. As a two-year starter, Garvis helped the Wildcats reach the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs for the first time in school history his senior season. Garvis ended his collegiate career at Penn College with over 600 points, 300 rebounds, and 100 3-point field goals. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in sport and event Management.
A Francis Scott Key High School graduate, Garvis was selected as 1st team All-Carroll County during his senior season. He has assisted with the Elevate Hoops AAU program.
