THE LEADERS
Josey Klingenberg (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) led the Green Terror with eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals to go with three points.

FOR THE FOES
• Crystal Jones led the Shorewomen with 17 points.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Behind a Meggie Burgess jumper and Mallory Conroy (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) three-point play, McDaniel jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the game's first 47 seconds. The Green Terror pushed the lead to as large as 14-7 on an Ellie Connelly (Sharpsburg, Md./Boonsboro) 3-pointer before triples from Crystal Jones and Kaleigh White trimmed the deficit to one after 10 minutes.
• Katie Klein hit a 3-pointer in the first minute of the second quarter to stretch the lead back to four. Triples from Josey Klingenberg and Julia Ryan (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendohowa) gave the Green Terror five-point leads, including at 25-20 on the Ryan corner 3-pointer with 5:47 remaining. A Joy Sanders steal-and-jumper sparked the game-changing 16-1 run that allowed the Shorewomen to open up a 36-26 halftime lead. Serena Pluta and Andrea Prestianne had five points each during the stretch.
• A Klein triple and two free throws from Conroy cut the deficit in half just 2:01 into the third quarter but a Madeline Williams 3-pointer stretched the advantage back to eight. McDaniel closed to within 39-35 on a Burgess jumper with 3:40 showing but Washington tallied the next seven points to open up a double-digit lead once again. Two Klein free throws made it a 46-37 game at the end of the quarter.
• Burgess connected on a jumper on the opening possession of the fourth quarter to make it a seven-point game but that's as close as the Green Terror could get. A Conroy jumper made it 54-45 with 4:19 to play but the Shorewomen held McDaniel scoreless the rest of the way en route to the 17-point win.

THE INSIDE STORY
Mallory Conroy finished with nine points and seven rebounds.
