Sproul nets 15 in final game

THE SKINNY
Franklin & Marshall scored the first eight points of the second half to open up a 20-point lead en route to a 77-55 win over McDaniel in the season finale.

THE LEADERS
Josh Sproul (Princess Anne, Md./Washington Academy) led the Green Terror with 15 points and five rebounds.
Mike Wallace (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum School) reached double digits for the 12th straight game with 17 points to go with five boards.

FOR THE FOES
• Solomon Mathis paced the Diplomats with 23 points.
• Omar Nichols contributed 20 points.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Tied at 9-all with six of Franklin & Marshall's first nine coming from Solomon Mathis and five of McDaniel's nine from Josh Sproul, Mathis hit another two baskets and John Seidman added a layup for a 15-9 lead with 12:02 to play. A Dragan Hornatko (Baltimore, Md./Glenelg Country Day School) 3-pointer closed the deficit to 20-16 with 7:26 on the clock but another four from Mathis helped extend the lead to double digits just 1:24 later. The Diplomat lead swelled to as large as 14 en route to a 36-24 halftime advantage.
• Franklin & Marshall netted the first eight points of the second half to build a 20-point lead just 2:04 into the stanza. Carter Truby (Sykesville, Md./Century) halted the momentum with a triple on the next Green Terror possession. McDaniel eventually closed to within 53-39 on a Mike Wallace (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum School) free throw with 13:01 remaining. Trailing 57-41, Quinn Kimmick (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) scored four straight points to make it a 12-point game with 8:58 showing. Triples from Mathis and Omar Nichols on either side of a Diplomat timeout pushed the lead out to 65-47 just 90 seconds later en route to the victory.

THE INSIDE STORY
• McDaniel had a 33-25 advantage on the glass.
