THE SKINNY
Swarthmore built an early lead that it never relinquished in a 54-39 win over McDaniel.
THE LEADERS
• Mallory Conroy (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) led the Green Terror with 13 points.
• Meggie Burgess (Olney, Md./Good Counsel) added 10 points and seven rebounds.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Behind six points from Kim Kockenmeister, Swarthmore built an 8-0 lead through the game's first 5:32. Katie Klein (Port Charlotte, Fla./Imagine School at North Port) and Mallory Conroy sandwiched baskets around a T Sallie 3-pointer to make it an 11-4 game just over a minute later. The Garnet scored the final six points of the period to open up a 17-4 advantage, however.
• Swarthmore stretched the lead to 21-4 before a Conroy jumper snapped a nearly eight-minute scoring drought. The two teams played the second quarter even to keep it a 13-point game at the intermission with the hosts leading, 29-16.
• Jumpers from Klein and Meggie Burgess out of the third-quarter gate quickly cut the deficit to single digits. The Garnet slowly pushed the lead out to 15, building a 39-24 lead with 3:11 showing en route to a 41-29 lead after 30 minutes.
• Swarthmore reestablished the 15-point in the first 67 seconds of the fourth quarter and the remainder of the period was played in a four-point window.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Swarthmore finished with a 41-29 rebounding advantage, including turning 13 offensive rebounds into 11 second-chance points.
