Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Beckett, Conroy Duo Lead McDaniel Past Ursinus, 47-45

WESTMINSTER, Md. - McDaniel College women's basketball freshman Elaina Beckett and senior Mallory Conroy combined for 37 points as the Green Terror posted a 47-45 victory over Ursinus Saturday on Rebecca L. Martin Court.

McDaniel (3-5, 2-2 CC) posted its second-straight win over the Bears at home after a 57-46 victory on Jan. 31, 2022.

Beckett totaled her second consecutive 20-point game and her fourth double double in eight games this season with 21 points and 10 rebounds. It was her second double double with at least 20 points as she had 26 points and 10 rebounds at Bryn Mawr on Nov. 19.

The Green Terror are 3-1 when Beckett posts a double double and 2-1 when she scores at least 20 points.

Meanwhile, Conroy scored a season-high 16 points, five shy of her career high and her most since she also had 16 in the last meeting against Ursinus.

Beckett and Conroy combined for 31 points through three quarters as McDaniel led 41-35. Beckett scored 11 of the team's 18 third-quarter points as the Green Terror took their largest lead of the game, 35-27 with 5:59 remaining.

McDaniel maintained its eight-point advantage following a jump shot by Beckett with 4:40 to play in the fourth quarter before an 8-0 run by the Bears tied the game for the fifth time, 45-45.

A layup by Conroy with 19 seconds left proved to be the game-winner as both teams missed two free throws in the final three seconds.

Conroy added six rebounds and five steals as the Green Terror scored 18 points off 17 Ursinus turnovers.

Senior Josey Klingenberg had five rebounds, eight assists and two steals while graduate student Julia Ryan had six points on two three-pointers.

Following final exams, the Green Terror wrap-up their four game home stand with a non-conference contest versus Goucher next Saturday, Dec. 10. Tip-off is at 2 p.m.
