LANCASTER, Pa. - McDaniel College women's swimming senior
Ella Tomkins and sophomore
Amanda Thompson led the Green Terror as they opened the season Saturday at the Centennial East Quad hosted by Franklin & Marshall.
McDaniel (0-3, 0-3 CC) competed against the Diplomats, Swarthmore and Ursinus.
Tomkins turned in the team's best finish of the day in the 100-yard butterfly as she finished fourth with a time of 1:01.77, just 0.12 seconds behind third place. She also came in seventh in the 200-yard butterfly and ninth as a member of the 200-yard medley relay team with fellow seniors
Sarah Dunn,
Erinkimber Cunnane and
Ashley Farrington.
Thompson also had three top-10 finishes, touching the wall seventh in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:43.52. She also placed eighth in the 50-yard freestyle in 26.78 seconds and ninth in the 200-yard individual medley. Thompson was a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay as well that finished 11th along with senior
Emma Lindell, freshman
Jane Walkinshaw and freshman
Mackenzie Skelton.
Senior
Ashley Farrington placed 10th in the 200-yard freestyle and 11th in the 500-yard freestyle.
The Green Terror make their home debut next Saturday, October 29 when they host Dickinson for a Centennial Conference dual meet beginning at 1 p.m.
