THE SKINNY
Swarthmore, ranked 18th in the latest D3hoops.com poll, went on a 21-6 first-half run to break open a seven-point game before leading by 20 or more in the entire second half of a 78-37 win over McDaniel.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Charles Contee (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) opened the scoring with a jumper to stake McDaniel to an early 2-0 lead in the game's first minute. Vinny DeAngelo scored back-to-back buckets before a Carter Truby 3-pointer put the Green Terror back in front by one with 17:33 to play. The teams traded baskets before an 8-0 burst from DeAngelo and George Visconti pushed Swarthmore to a 16-7 lead with 10:44 on the clock. Two Dragan Hornatko (Baltimore, Md./Glenelg Country Day School) made it an 18-11 game with 9:44 to play but back-to-back Matt Mulvey triples sparked the game-changing run. The Garnet scored 21 of the next 27 to build a 39-17 lead eight minutes later. Quinn Kimmick (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) and Michael Caprise traded baskets in the last 1:13 to make it a 41-19 game at the break.
• The lead remained between 21 and 25 points over the first 7:40 of the second half before a Conor Harkins 3-pointer gave the Garnet a 57-29 lead with 10:19 showing. Leading 61-36 with 5:46 to play, Swarthmore scored 17 of the game's final 18 points for the final margin.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Josh Arruda (Morrisville, Pa./Pennsbury) led the Green Terror on the glass with six rebounds. Swarthmore finished the game with a slight 34-31 edge in rebounding.
• The Garnet shot 54.8 percent in the first half and 50.0 percent for the game, including hitting 15 of its 29 attempts from long distance.
