THE SKINNY
McDaniel scored the first nine points of the game en route to a 61-44 victory over Muhlenberg.

THE LEADERS
• Josey Klingenberg (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) led the Green Terror with career highs of 14 rebounds and 11 assists. She also had four points and three steals.
• Mallory Conroy (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) netted a game-high 20 points.
• Katie Klein (Port Charlotte, Fla./Imagine School at North Point) added 18 points.

FOR THE FOES
• Emily Unger led the Mules with 10 points.
• Margaux Eripret added seven points and 10 rebounds.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Six points from Mallory Conroy and a Katie Klein 3-pointer staked McDaniel to a 9-0 lead in the game's first 3:45. Abigail Scheidel halted an 0-for-5 start to the game for Muhlenberg, hitting a 3-poiner with 5:59 on the first-quarter clock. A Margaux Eripret jumper and Tara Szawaluk 3-pointer in the last 2:06 of the period closed the deficit to 16-13.
• An Emily Unger 3-pointer 89 seconds into the second quarter tied the game before two Eripret free throws 23 seconds later gave Muhlenberg its only lead of the game, 18-16. Klein hit a 3-pointer with 7:12 on the clock to spark a 12-2 close to the first half. Five different Green Terror players hit baskets to stretch the lead to 28-20 at the intermission.
• After Eripret hit a jumper with 9:13 showing in the third quarter, Conroy responded with a short jumper of her own to spark a 7-0 burst that pushed the advantage to 13 with 5:34 remaining. An Unger jumper with 1:01 to play in the quarter snapped an 8-minute, 12-second drought from the floor and made it a 35-27 game heading to the final period.
• Treys from Unger and Szawaluk around a Julia Ryan (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) 3-pointer made it a five-point game just a minute into the fourth quarter. However, McDaniel put together a 7-0 burst over the next two minutes to stretch the lead to 45-33. The Mules countered with seven straight points of their own to make it a 45-40 game with 4:50 on the clock but then went the next three minutes without scoring and fell behind, 55-50. Two Meggie Burgess (Olney, Md./Good Counsel) jumpers on back-to-back possessions made it a 61-43 game in the final 40 seconds before one Caroine Horst free throw set the final margin.

THE INSIDE STORY
Josey Klingenberg's 11 assists were the most by a Green Terror player since Brittney Davis dished out 11 against Gettysburg on Feb. 26, 2016.
• The win snaped a nine-game losing streak for McDaniel.
Meggie Burgess finished with eight points and six rebounds.
