McDaniel, ranked 10th in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, used a pair of second-half goals to defeat Virginia Wesleyan, 2-0.

• Hannah Schepers (Port Deposit, Md./ St. Mark's) netted both goals for the Green Terror.
• Katherine Carstensen (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) tallied two saves and assisted on the second Schepers' goal.

• Amruta Karkare recorded two saves for the Marlins.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Just over six minutes in the second half, Hannah Schepers bombed a free kick into the upper-right corner to get McDaniel on the scoreboard after each had chances but couldn't convert in the first half.
• Just 1:18 later, Schepers knocked home a Katherine Carstensen punt for the insurance goal.
THE INSIDE STORY
• The Green Terror finished with a 7-5 edge in shots and 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
• It was the ninth straight shutout to start the season for McDaniel to match its own Centennial Conference record for consecutive games with a shutout that was originally set in 2016.
• Dating back to the last season of play, the Green Terror has shut out 13 straight opponents and has not allowed a goal in 1222 minutes, 21 seconds.
• McDaniel moved up to 10th in the latest United Soccer Coaches Div. III poll – the highest ranking in program history.
