McDaniel scored twice in the first half and added a third early in the second half for a 3-0 win over Catholic in the season opener for both teams.

• Molly Krzywicki made two first-half saves in goal for the Cardinals.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Taylor Clawson (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area) opened the scoring off a rebound in the box just 7:23 into the game.
• Hannah Schepers found an open net after a goalie misplay to finish a long boot from Katherine Carstensen (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) in the 25th minute.
• Schepers lobbed a ball into the box from the right side, where Maddie Schwartz (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) finished just 2:25 into the second half.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Taylor Clawson also scored the first goal of the 2019 season – her rookie campaign. It was also the last time the now-junior found the back of the net.
• The Katherine Carstensen assist in the 25th minute was her first collegiate point. She also had four saves in goal.
• McDaniel finished with a 19-11 advantage in shots and 5-2 edge in corner kicks.
• It marked the first time the Green Terror has opened the season with a road shutout win since 2013.
