Hincapie scores twice in quick stretch to lead women's soccer to win

THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel scored twice in a 12-second stretch late in the first half to defeat Randolph-Macon, 2-0.

THE LEADERS
Elena Hincapie (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield Twp.) scored both goals for the Green Terror.

FOR THE FOES
• Zoe Long made five saves for the Yellow Jackets.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the 41st minute, Elaina Kluttz (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) played a ball through to Elena Hincapie, who finished low from the right side for a 1-0 lead.
• Shortly thereafter, Hincapie collected a misplayed ball by a defender and the top of the box and buried it into the upper 90 to double the lead.

THE INSIDE STORY
• McDaniel finished with a 9-2 advantage in shots and 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
• The Green Terror shut out its first four opponents to start a season for the first time since 2000.

McDaniel returns to action at home against No. 1 Messiah on Wednesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
