THE SKINNY
McDaniel, ranked ninth in the latest United Soccer Coaches' poll, controlled the second half and scored twice in a 10-minute span to knock Franklin & Marshall from the ranks of the unbeaten, 2-0.
THE LEADERS
• Maddie Schwartz (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) led the Green Terror with one goal and one assist.
• Jessica Weinoldt (East Petersburg, Pa./Hempfield) added with the second marker.
• Allison Storm (Abingdon, Md./Harford Tech) recorded two assists off corner kicks.
FOR THE FOES
• Emily Senko led the Diplomats with six saves.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the 68th minute, Allison Storm placed a corner kick in the box, and Maddie Schwartz outleaped a Diplomat defender heading it just out of the goalkeeper's reach.
• Just shy of 10 minutes later, Storm sent another corner kick that deflected off Schwartz to a leaping Jessica Weinoldt, who found the back of the net.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Franklin & Marshall controlled the most of the first half but Katherine Carstensen (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) made five of her seven saves for the game to keep it a scoreless game at the break.
• McDaniel finished with edges of 15-12 in shots, including an 11-4 advantage in the decisive second half, and 5-3 in corner kicks.
• Jessica Weinoldt's goal was the first of her career and she became the 11th different player to net a goal this season.
• The Green Terror posted its 10th shutout of the season.
