THE SKINNY
McDaniel competed against Franklin & Marshall, Ursinus, and Swarthmore in a Centennial Conference quad at Franklin & Marshall to open the 2021-22 season.
THE LEADERS
• Ella Tomkins (Tikokino, Central Hawkie's Bay/Mercury Bay Area School) led the Green Terror with a fifth-place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 2:21.30. She was also eighth in the 100 fly with a time of 1:02.40.
• Hannah Cehelsky (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln Sudbury Regional) finished sixth in the 1000 free with a time of 12:03.65.
FOR THE FOES
• Swarthmore completed a 3-0 day behind a three-win day from Lexi Duffy, who was first individually in the 200 back (2:10.16) and 100 back (59.88) as well as part of the 200 medley relay (1:48.36).
• The Garnet topped McDaniel 218-38 while the Green Terror dropped a 209-45 decision to Franklin & Marshall and 187-60 decision to Ursinus.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Amanda Thompson (Drexel Hill, Pa./Friends Central) had an eighth-place finish in the 200 free with a time of 2:09.47. She was also 15th in the 100 free (58.87).
• Abby Cook (Fredericksburg, Md./Chancellor) was eighth in the 100 back (1:05.15) and 10th in the 200 back (2:26.88)
THE INSIDE STORY
• The 200 medley relay of Abby Cook, Emma Jones (East New Market, Md./Chesapeake Christian School), Amanda Thompson, and Ella Tompkins was 10th with a time of 2:01.52.
