THE LEADERS
• Josh Sproul (Princess Anne, Md./Washington Academy) led the Green Terror with 17 points, including hitting four 3-pointers.
• Mike Wallace (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) matched him with 17 points.
• Dragan Hornatko (Baltimore, Md./Glenelg Country Day School) reached double digits for the second straight game with 10.

FOR THE FOES
• Solomon Mathis led all scorers with 21 points.
• Ignas Slyka chipped in a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists.
• Brian Hines added 14 points.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Jumpers from Josh Sproul and Mike Wallace staked McDaniel to a 4-0 lead in the first 2:43 of the game. After a Ignas Slyka layup, Dragan Hornatko drained a 3-pointer to open up a 7-2 edge. The lead grew to eight on a Sproul triple and Caleb Johnson (Triangle, Va./Gar-Field) layup. After Les Thomas and Sproul traded 3-pointers to make it a 24-17 game, Thomas canned another trey with 1:26 remaining to closed the deficit to four. Hornatko, however, was fouled on a 3-pointer attempt just before the final horn of the half. He converted two of his three attempts to make it a six-point lead at the break.
• Spoul was fouled on a 3-point attempt of his own at the end of the shot clock on the first possession of the second half and drained all three to stretch the lead to nine. Two Wallace free throws nearly a minute later gave McDaniel a 31-20 lead. Five straight points from Slyka started a 17-7 run that trimmed the margin to one with 12:23 remaining. Sproul and Wallace each nailed triples to push the lead back out to six before a Stephen Lang (Gaithersburg, Md./Poolesville) 3-pointer gave the hosts a 47-40 lead with 10:08 on the clock. Back-to-back Solomon Mathis 3-pointers gave the Diplomats their first lead of the game at 49-47 with 8:03 remaining. Two Wallce free throws once again tied the game but Kupa converted a three-point play to put Franklin & Marshall in front for good.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Franklin & Marshall shot 19-for-27 (70.4 percent) in the second half, including hitting 6 of 9 3-pointers. The Diplomats shot 58.7 percent for the game.
