THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel took a 3-0 win over Gallaudet to earn a split on the first day of the Battlefield Classic. The Green Terror took the opening set 25-20 before completing the sweep 25-15 and 25-17.

THE LEADERS
• Marlowe Embry (San Jose, Calif./J.H. Pitman) led the Green Terror with 12 kills to go with a block and six digs.
• Gayle Edelstein (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) chipped in 27 assists.
• Abigail Hernandez (Gaithersburg, Md./Richard Montgomery) had four aces.
• Taylor Lindsay (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) and Kendall Hanak (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) steadied the defense with nine digs each.
