THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel posted a final-round score of 307 to finish with a 54-hole score of 943 and place second at the Centennial Conference Championship hosted by Muhlenberg at Brookside Country Club.
THE LEADERS
• Chuck Csejka (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional) finished tied for third to earn all-conference honors. He posted matching rounds of 79 over the first 36 holes before finishing off the weekend with a 74 on Sunday to card a three-round score of 232.
• Kevin Keane (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) matched Csejka's final tally to also place third. He opened the weekend with a round of 78 before posting a 79 over the second round and a 75 on Sunday.
FOR THE FOES
• Gettysburg won its first CC championship since 2002, rallying with the low round of the tournament on Sunday. The Bullets posted a round of 295 to finish with a score of 937 and edge the Green Terror by six shots.
• Danny Harcourt claimed the individual championship with a score of 225 (73-79-73) for the Bullets. Dane Sethre-Hofstad finished second in the field after a final-round record score of 68 to finish with a 229.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) added a top-10 finish, placing tied for eighth with a score of 237. After carding a round of 85 to start the weekend, he fired a 77 on Saturday afternoon and 75 on Sunday.
• Christian Garruppo (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Prep) placed 15th overall with a score of 242 (79-80-83).
• Ryan McGarry (North Easton, Mass./Oliver Ames) finished 29th with a score of 256 (89-83-84).
THE INSIDE STORY
• The first round was halted on Friday due to thunderstorms and resumed on Saturday morning before playing the second round on Saturday afternoon.
• The Green Terror opened the tournament with a round of 321, falling 14 shots off the lead of Swarthmore. McDaniel rebounded in the second round with a round of 315 to move within nine shots with 18 holes to play. The Green Terror fired the second-best round of any team over the weekend with a 307 on Sunday to top Swarthmore but fall short of Gettysburg.
• It was the Green Terror's 11th runner-up finish at the championship.
• The wet and windy conditions produced the highest winning score since 2009 when F&M won with a 939.
• Chuck Csejka and Kevin Keane mark McDaniel's 28th and 29th all-conference honorees.
