McDaniel did not trail at any point in the first two sets, sweeping Goucher 3-0 behind 25-14, 25-13 and 25-17 wins.

• Emma Lorenzen (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) matched her season high with 10 kills to go with five digs and three total blocks.
• Marlowe Embry (San Jose, Calif./J.H. Pitman) added eight kills and nine digs to go with three aces.
• Lauren Wells (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) chipped in 12 assists to go with four kills and three blocks.
• Gayle Edelstein (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) added nine assists and six digs.
• Taylor Bauman (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) chipped in with six digs.
FOR THE FOES
• Kaya Melchor led the Gopher attack with five kills.
• Virginia Estes had eight digs and an ace.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• A Gayle Edelstein ace keyed a 2-0 start to the first set. Back-to-back Taylor Bauman aces stretched the lead to 17-9. Goucher closed to within 19-14 but a service error and Lauren Wells kill ignited a 6-0 close to the set for a 25-14 win.
• An Emma Lorenzen kill capped a 3-1 start to the second set. The Gophers tied the set three times. Knotted at 11-all, Allie Lugar (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) knocked down a kill to spark a 13-2 close to the 25-13 win. Regan Gefroh (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) and Marlowe Embry keyed the final run with two and three aces, respectively.
• Goucher raced out to a 7-2 lead in the third set to force a timeout. McDaniel, behind three Isabel Paci (Ellicott City, Md./River Hill) kills, countered with a 10-4 run to take a 12-11 lead. Trailing 16-14, Alena Villanueva (Gaithersburg, Md./Magruder) served the Green Terror to an 8-0 run and 22-16 advantage en route to the 25-17 victory.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Taylor Bauman's six digs brings her career total to 1,639 – nine shy of tying the program record.
• Eight of McDaniel's 11 wins have come in three sets this season.
