THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel prevailed in three close sets to top Lancaster Bible 3-0 in the season opener. The Green Terror won the first set 25-18 before taking the second set, 25-19. McDaniel rounded out the sweep with a 25-21 victory.

THE LEADERS
• Marlowe Embry (San Jose, Calif./J.H. Pitman) recorded eight kills and hit .333. She also tallied a team-best 16 digs and added three aces.
• Allie Lugar (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) matched Embry with eight kills to lead the attack.
• Gayle Edelstein (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) contributed four aces and 12 assists.
• Lauren Wells (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) added 14 assists.
• Emma Lorenzen (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) notched three block solos.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Makayla Patterson (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) had a career-best seven kills.
• The Green Terror recorded 12 aces as a team. McDaniel had just five matches in all of 2017 with 12 or more aces as a team.
