DANBURY, Conn. – McDaniel learned on Monday afternoon that its season will continue with a selection to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III volleyball tournament.
The Green Terror (21-8) received the No. 2 overall seed and a first-round bye. McDaniel will take on the winner of Wednesday's Penn State Behrend-Wilkes first-round match on Saturday at Cabrini, beginning at 8 p.m. The semifinals and final will be on Sunday at Cabrini.
Sophomore Marlowe Embry (San Jose, Calif./J.H. Pitman) leads McDaniel with 311 kills and is second on the team with 347 digs. She also has 38 aces and 23 total blocks.
Senior Taylor Bauman (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) leads the defense with 474 digs and 29 service aces.
Sophomore Emma Lorenzen (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) leads the way with 74 total blocks to go with 193 kills and 24 aces.
Senior Allie Lugar (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) is second on the team with 208 kills. She also has 44 blocks.
Sophomore Makayla Patterson (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) has added 113 kills to go with 55 total blocks.
Sophomore Gayle Edelstein (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) and junior Lauren Wells (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) have contributed 475 and 395 assists, respectively, to the attack. Edelstein leads the team with 48 aces.
Sophomore Kendall Hanak (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Rock Canyon) has contributed 247 digs and 35 aces.
