BRYN MAWR, Pa. – McDaniel outscored Bryn Mawr 22-9 in the second quarter, building a 17-point halftime lead en route to a 64-29 Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball victory on Saturday.

Hannah Zajac (Houston, Texas/Clear Creek) led the Green Terror (5-6, 3-3 CC), establishing a career best with 14 points to go with a team-best six rebounds.

Halena Martin led the Owls (0-10, 0-7 CC) with nine points.

A Renie Tsomos (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air) steal-and-layup and a Jasmine Smith (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) free throw staked McDaniel to a 3-0 lead nearly four minutes into the game.

Zajac doubled the advantage with a triple a the 3:24 mark before Meagan Murray-Bruce scored the first points for Bryn Mawr 13 seconds later.

An Emily Metzger (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) free throws and Melanie Yeomans (Myersville, Md./South Hagerstown) jumper stretched the Green Terror lead to 11-4 just 41 seconds into the second quarter.

A Hannah Ravenscroft (Berryville, Va./Clarke County) jumper sparked another quick 6-0 burst that stretched the lead to 24-9 midway through the period.

Zajac found Jayce Klingenberg (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) for the freshman's first basket with 1:05 to play and then Zajac canned another trey to stretch the lead to 30-12 before Sydney Garner hit a free throw in the final 30 seconds of the half.

Ten straight McDaniel points early in the third quarter pushed the lead to 42-16 with 6:20 on the clock. Three straight points from Elizabeth Chan made it a 23-point game but that's as close as Bryn Mawr would get the rest of the way.

Liv Storer (Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia/Galen Catholic College) finished with six points, failing to reach double figures for the first time this season, but also added a career-high six steals.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Swarthmore on Tuesday. Game time is 6 p.m.
