Escobar scores lone goal for road win

READING, Pa. – McDaniel scored a first-half goal and the defense posted its third shutout of the season in a 1-0 win at Albright in non-conference men's soccer action on Wednesday.

Raul Escobar (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) scored the lone goal for the Green Terror (4-0), who improved to 4-0 for the first time since starting 2013 with five straight wins.

Billy Mullen made one save for the Lions (1-3-1), who were outshot 8-4 in the back-and-forth battle.

Cam Gebhart (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion Area) sent a through ball to Escobar at the top of the box and the senior finished for his fifth goal of the year at the 31:34 mark.

McDaniel also had a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Nick Over (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) needed to make one save.

McDaniel returns to action in the Centennial Conference opener at home against Ursinus on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
