GRANTHAM, Pa. – Messiah, ranked eighth in the latest NWCA poll, recorded three pins as part of a 43-5 win over McDaniel in non-conference wrestling action on Wednesday.
Alvontae Drummond (Lincoln, Del./Milford) led the Green Terror (3-13) in the dual-meet finale with a technical fall win at 141.
Hunter Harris notched the first of three fall for the Falcons (18-3), winning in 3:52 at 133.
After Marshall Myers recorded a 15-2 win at 125 and the Harris pin at 133, Drummond cut the deficit to 10-5 with an 18-3 win just 48 seconds into the second period.
Stephen Maloney responded with a second-period technical fall of his own and Jeff Hojanacki added a 9-3 win to push the lead to 18-5 midway through the match.
Pins by Larry Cannon (165) in 3:54 and Derek Beitz (184) in 5:28 around a Ben Swarr forfeit win at 174 made it a 36-5 lead.
Karrington Washington and Nick Havener rounded out the night with 19-5 and 11-7 wins, respectively.
The Green Terror returns to action at the NCAA Div. III East Regional hosted by Ferrum on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25.
