WESTMINSTER, Md. – Gettysburg scored six straight points to break a 52-all deadlock, defeating McDaniel 60-55 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball action on Wednesday.

Jasmine Smith (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) led the Green Terror (11-13, 9-10 CC) with 12 points while Karli Zeps (Reisterstown, Md./Seton Keough) added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Emily Gibbons led the Bullets (17-7, 13-6 CC) with her conference-record tying 12th straight double-double and the program's first 30-20 game with 30 points and 21 rebounds to lead her team into the playoffs.

Tied for the 13th time on a Gibbons jumper with 3:18 to play, Emma Hashner converted a pass from Gibbons to give the visitors a 54-52 edge with 2:14 showing.

Back-to-back Gibbons layups stretched the lead to 58-52 with 50.4 seconds on the clock.

Smith drained a 3-pointer from the top of the arc to cut the deficit in half with 13.5 seconds left.

Gibbons hit the second of two free throws with 12.7 seconds on the clock and then the first of two with 6.4 seconds showing for the final margin.

Gettysburg opened up a lead as large as five in the first quarter but on six different occasions, the Green Terror battled back to tie the game before a pair of Gibbons layups in the final 1:25 gave the Bullets a 21-17 lead at the end of the period.

McDaniel limited Gettysburg to just five second-quarter points while building a 30-26 lead, culminating with an Alyssa March (Fallston, Md./Fallston) three-point play with 41 seconds to play in the opening half.

The Bullets put together a 10-2 run over a 2-minute, 25-second span in the third quarter to turn a 34-30 deficit into a 40-36 lead with 2:16 showing.

Triples from Anna Mondoro (Dumfries, Va./Homeschool) and Smith keyed a 6-1 finish to the quarter, however, for a 42-41 edge.

The Green Terror concludes the season at home against Muhlenberg on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
