WESTMINSTER, Md. – Muhlenberg won a pair of close sets to top McDaniel 3-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball action on Saturday before the Green Terror rebounded to sweep Lancaster Bible 3-0 to close out the day.

Teryn Rath (Grass Valley, Calif./Bear River) led the Green Terror (16-7, 4-4 CC) with 14 kills on the day, including 11 in the opening match.

Maggie Enestvdt led the Mules (23-4, 7-1 CC) to victory with 20 kills. Muhlenberg won the first set 25-19 before taking the second set, 26-24. McDaniel forced a fourth set with a 25-15 win before the Mules capped the day with a 25-21 win.

Tied at 14-all, Enestvedt knocked down three kills over the next five points to open up a 18-15 lead en route to the six-point win.

Trailing 23-20 on an Allie Lugar (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) kill, knockdows by Tara Register and Enestvedt coupled with a pair of Maya Illovsky aces helped the visitors to a 26-24 win.

A pair of Lauren Wells (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) kills keyed a 9-0 run early in the third set. McDaniel extended the lead as large as 23-9 en route to the 10-point win.

The teams traded runs in the fourth set but Muhlenberg had the final say with Enestvedt knocking down her 20th kill to end the match.

Taylor Bauman (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) added 28 digs and three aces for the Green Terror.

In the second match, a Kendall Hanak (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Rock Canyon) ace helped McDaniel open up a 7-2 lead in the opening set en route to a 25-19 victory.

Lancaster Bible jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the second set behind a pair of Lauren Grimm aces before three Bauman aces helped turned a 9-5 deficit into an 11-9 lead and shifted momentum to give the hosts a 25-18 victory.

The third set featured 10 ties and seven lead changes but an Emma Lorenzen (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) and Wells combined block and Charger attack error gave the hosts the sweep, 27-25.

Lorenzen led the attack in the second match with nine kills and nine total blocks – the most by a Green Terror player since 2008. Bauman added five aces and 17 digs.

McDaniel returns to action at Dickinson on Wednesday. Match time is 7 p.m.
